"Our greatest glory is not in never falling,
but in rising every time we fall."

i'm trying to become a better person.

days binge-free: 6

I’m fed up of reading about people binging on a packet of crisps. I can understand completely that you feel that you’ve ate too much, but that is NOT a binge. A binge is when you eat so so much you feel physically unable to move. The pain is so unbearable you can’t move and you almost have to drag yourself to move to the bathroom. You feel sick but yet you continue eating, thinking that somehow, eating will stop you from thinking. Eating will make everything go away. You don’t stop at one doughnut. You don’t stop at two. You eat thousands and thousands of calories, you continue going, despite already feeling uncomfortable - that doesn’t stop you. It’s like you’re in a trance, you don’t think about anything, you don’t even think about what you’re doing. It’s only until you’ve finished that the guilt sets in and you want it out of you as soon as you can. It’s not like you sit there during a binge counting every calorie going into your mouth, that’s not what you think about. You just eat whatever you can grab your hands on, it’s like your overcome by some other person entirely, not even a person, some unnatural being. This isn’t you. So please, I’m sorry if this comes across as harsh. But this is real binging, this hell.

i can never eat normally. it’s always either too little or way too much. ghdskghsldk

Saying “oh ive already ruined my good eating today ill just eat crap” is like saying “oh i dropped my phone on the floor ill just smash it till it breaks.” Its silly and dosent make much sense. Sense, however has little to do with our choices regarding eating.

That’s a very good point.  I’m going to think this now!!

GET CLEAN. GET ABSOLUTELY SQUEAKY CLEAN. USE SWEET SMELLING SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONER. EXFOLIATE. SHAVE. DRY YOURSELF OFF COMPLETELY. INDULGE IN LOVELY LOTION. PUT ON SELF-TANNER. CUTE COTTON SHORTS AND A TEE. REPAINT YOUR NAILS, SPRAY NICE PERFUME. LIGHT A CANDLE, DO YOUR HAIR. MAYBE YOUR MAKEUP. BLAST SOME MUSIC, DANCE AROUND YOUR ROOM. LOOK AT YOURSELF IN THE MIRROR. TELL YOUR BODY YOU LOVE IT TO PIECES AND WILL TREAT IT RIGHT. DRINK A GLASS OF WATER. TACKLE THE DAY WITH A SMILE. YOU WILL NOT BINGE. YOU WILL EXERCISE, YOU WILL REFUSE THE DESSERT. AND YOU WILL FEEL GOOD.

selfinspiration:

p.s. It is not necessary to refuse dessert entirely!  Because deprivation ultimately leads to bingeing, your best bet is to indulge in desert while practicing portion control.  In this way you can allow dessert to be a win-win situation!

so you’ve been awake for a few minutes now. thinking about what you ate yesterday. the stupid, stupid mistakes that you would love to go back and change. the calories that didn’t make you any happier. that extra digit that showed up on the scale. so you’re going to do what? sit on tumblr all day staring at the pictures of the girls that you wish you could be? read the blogs of girls who are succeeding? try to not eat for a few hours and then give into your depression? NO. you will achieve it. screw that scale. screw the people who told you you weren’t worth it. screw the food sitting in the pantry, the fridge, the stores, the restaurants. ladies, it’s day 1 of no more binges. day 1 of consistent pound loss. day 1 of sore abs, legs, and butts. count ahead a few days. where are you? day 30 of the guys noticing you. day 47 of proving your family wrong. day 59 of your skinny friends not lying when they call you pretty. day 70 of not being embarrassed in dressing rooms. day 82 of everyone asking if you’ve lost weight. day 95 of shopping in the small sizes. day 110 of people picking you up to give you hugs without thinking you’re too heavy. day 123 of feeling the jealousy of other girls looking at you. day 132 of being somebody else’s thinspo. you can’t get to those days without having a day 1. and those dates may seem far away, but think about this: day 2 includes being happy with your choices from the day before.
